If you have a Gener8 account, you probably wish you could make more money from it, right? For me, I’ve been using Gener8 for around a year – yet only made £60. In fact, this isn’t even out of the ordinary. Here’s a more detailed post on how much you can make with Gener8. Still, this is better than nothing – but don’t you wish it was more? Here’s some ways you can increase your earnings:
The best ways to make more Gener8 points are to invite friends, use the app to upload your Google (an Amazon in the future) data, simply use the internet more, install Gener8 on more devices (possibly including ones that aren’t yours), connect to Receipt Radar – their e-receipt scanner, and leave them a review.
In this post, I’ll break it all down – including why it works. But first, what even is Gener8?
What is Gener8?
You probably already know this, so I’ll keep it short. For those of you that don’t, Gener8 is an online tool that you can use to make a bit of free cash. If it sounds too good to be true – it isn’t (though it isn’t going to pay the rent). Gener8 claims its users can bring in upwards of £15 per month in extra cash – for free – without compromising their privacy.
Gener8 works by changing ads you see, blocking trackers and a bunch more smart tricks to change the flow of money from the websites you visit to you (that does mean that this website makes less money – so you’re welcome).
There’s two modes – privacy and rewards. I probably don’t need to explain it. For those of you who still want to know more, here’s your go-to guide.
Invite Friends
This is a pretty simple one. Gener8 wants more users (so they can make more money in the long run), so they will simply just pay you if you can successfully invite a friend.
All you need to do is to send a special kind-of-affiliate link to your friends and you will receive 50 points (between £5 and £2.50) for your first friend and 10 points after that. As a special bonus and incentive for your friend, they will receive 10 extra points as well.
You can find this option both on the website and their app (you can download it on the Google Play Store or the App Store). It’s pretty easy to set up and all you need to do is send your friends some stuff, so you shouldn’t need a guide.

Upload Data
On their app, they offer some additional ways of making some money. These include uploading Google data. Amazon data is coming soon – but it has also been “coming soon” for at least a couple of years now.
On my first Google data upload, I made 50 points, but that’s because I had never used it before (so there was a lot of data). Keep in mind, though, that I had only had a phone for about a year and a half, so you can probably make much more. Usually I can make around 10 points per upload, but I don’t do it weekly.
This contributes to make around half of all my points, so it’s definitely worth a try if you don’t mind your data being used for market research (which isn’t as bad as a lot of the data on the internet – and it’s anonymised!).
Use the Internet More
This one’s dead simple. If you use the internet more, you use Gener8 more, so therefore you make more points. This one works even better if you add Gener8 to more devices – more information below!
By going on the internet more, you will see more ads, resulting in more points, and Google can also get more data on you (kinda scary though), so you make more money at the next Google data upload.
Install Gener8 on More Devices
This one’s also dead simple, but you can make it much better. Think about it. If you have it on your home computer and your work computer then you will spend more time on the internet. This does what I’ve talked about above. However, we can get a little crafty with this one.
If you install Gener8 on all your family’s devices, you will probably make about 3x what you’re getting now, and I’m sure they’ll be happy to help – especially since Gener8 actually protects your data. If you broaden this to your work group, you could all work together to get more points and decide on something to get at the end of the month.
This can easily make a big difference, as suddenly it’s easy to afford the stuff on the auction – though don’t use the auction, here’s why.
Receipt Radar
On Gener8’s app, they have a feature called Receipt Radar. Receipt Radar is a cool tool that scans your inbox to find e-receipts, which Gener8 can use to get cashback and other small bonuses. Most of these earnings are then passed back on to you.
This one doesn’t work for me for two reasons:
- I can’t sign up. Both my Gmail and Outlook accounts have parental controls – because I’m a kid – so both Google and Microsoft don’t allow me to sign up. It would take an awful lot of faff for me to sort it out and personally I can’t be bothered. However, it should work fine for you if you don’t have any issues like this.
- I just don’t really get e-receipts. The best I ever really get is stuff from eBay, and that is usually in the app anyway – so Gener8 can’t get at it. I like to save my money, and I don’t have much of it anyway.
